Viale Primo Maggio (May 1 Avenue), Turin.
This avenue is named after the International Worker's Day and skirts the Royal Gardens, where jazz concerts are often hosted in the summer (see, for example, Jazz and Jazz - 19). A snowy night at the beginning of this year turned the whole city into an unusually white and silent place. I love to imagine the city under the snow mantle as a bride who, dressed in white, gets ready to marry her groom. This image is a HDR post processing from five exposures (-2EV, -1EV, 0, +1EV, +2EV). Full view recommended. Thanks for viewing. Nineteenth image in my "Turin" series. Please see the complete series. Comments
merci! i can assure you that the color are faithful to the "original". i managed the hdr process to bring out the details without substantially altering the tones: the sky looks almost like it was, with orange-ish street neon lamps halos reflecting on the grey clouds.
-- Don't take life too seriously. It's not permanent. the two half columns are... half in the real thing.
they rise from two square structures that enclose the arch. I did take another, zoomed-out, shot, but i like this one much more. first, because the background is more detailed (obviously). then, because i took the shots under a sort of balcony (enclosed between two similar arches) and i did not like to see the sidewalk, without snow... -- Don't take life too seriously.
