Maybe I'd better say =art176 strikes again! Some days ago i uploaded Jazz - 16, which portrays Mr. Dave Holland enjoying the ovation at the end of the concert in Turin, Jul. 10, 2007. Yesterday, my good friend =art176 commented it and pointed out that its composition follows a Fibonacci spiral...<div class="centertext">:thumb83381648:</div>He's really got quite an eye for this kind of things (and for art in general): he also noticed the same happened to On Stage - 14 (see Cristina vs. Fibonacci, where I also tried to explain what the Fibonacci spiral is). Now, the amazing thing, is that Jazz - 16 is a crop of the original photograph I took. A slight crop indeed, since I only cropped out a thin portion of the image from the left and lower sides; however I tried different crop sizes and positions before choosing this one. All the other ones simply did not work: there was always something in the resulting image, that made it look unbalanced. I absolutely didn't think about Fibonacci while I was testing... so I came here totally unaware of this curious correspondence (like I happened to do, on the other hand, with On Stage - 14). So, it looks like the Fibonacci spiral has really something to do with expressing some kind of universal proportions... ...And, once again, thank you Ahmed! Comments
thank you abby
i'm not good at this, but for explicit shapes. luckily, =art176 is a good supervisor -- Don't take life too seriously. It's not permanent. |
