Description
In mid december I happened to visit the lake of Orta, north-east of Turin. It is named after the town of Orta San Giulio, located on its eastern shore.
In the northern emisphere, december brings the shortest days of the year: in the middle of the afternoon the sun was already setting down, and fast came the dusk, with its irresistible colors.
In fact, i could not resist.

It's gorgeous. 
I particularily love the texture of the water, along with the reflection of the beautiful sunset hues. The crop is perfect. The one thing I'd like to see would be a bit more differentiation from the isle (I suppose it is an isle?) from the water's edge. Also, there are these gorgeous highlights on the left side of the island's buildings, but they're quite mute at the moment. I'd love the contrast from lightest to darkest on the island alone adjusted, so that the light on the left and the shadows on the right really bring the island to life.
It's a wonderful shot. And even though you say you capture what you see, and not what you think, this photo (like many of your others) feels to me like it has both. (The best of both worlds, so to speak.)
